Privacy policy.
The short version: no cookies, no analytics and no third-party resources on this site, and the app sends nothing to its publisher. The only personal data processed are the server’s technical logs and any emails you choose to send.
This English text is a translation. If it ever differs from the French version, the French version prevails.
Data controller
[to be completed], publisher of this site, who can be reached using the contact details in the legal notice.
This site
- No cookies, and nothing stored in your browser (no localStorage, nor anything like it).
- No audience measurement: no analytics or statistics tools, no advertising pixels.
- No third-party resources: fonts, images, logos and scripts are all served by this site itself. No request goes to any other domain during your visit; a security policy (CSP) forbids your browser from making one anyway.
- No forms: the site asks you for no information at all.
- Links to other sites (Tor Project, CoinGecko…) don’t pass on the address of the page you came from.
Server logs
Like any web server, the one hosting this site keeps technical logs of every request: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser used.
- Purpose: running and protecting the site (troubleshooting, preventing abuse). Never audience measurement or profiling.
- Legal basis: the publisher’s legitimate interest in keeping the site available and secure.
- Recipient: the host ([to be completed]), acting as the publisher’s processor. Its privacy policy states where this data is stored and, where relevant, the safeguards that apply when it is transferred outside the European Union.
- Retention period: [to be completed].
Emails
If you write to the contact address, your email address and message are used only to reply to you (legal basis: legitimate interest in handling your request). They are neither passed on to third parties nor used to send you anything else, and they are deleted once the exchange is over.
The Carnet app
- Carnet runs entirely on your device. Your addresses, transactions, imports and settings are stored there, in an encrypted vault; no data is sent to the publisher, who has no access to it.
- No account, no telemetry, no crash reports, no automatic update checks.
- To work, Carnet queries third-party public services (blockchain explorers, price sources). These services receive the public addresses of the wallets being synced and, unless you use Tor, your IP address. The list of these services and what they learn is on the Security page. They act on their own behalf, under their own policies.
- Imported CSV statements are not kept: names, IBANs, card numbers and email addresses are stripped out of them.
Your rights
For the data described above (server logs, emails), you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection. To exercise these rights, write to the publisher using the contact details in the legal notice. As the technical logs contain no name or email address, you may be asked for your IP address and the date of your visit so they can be found. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).
